What Is Study Steady About?

This is a better way to study, built by a teacher.

Many students struggle because they don’t know how to study effectively, they make unrealistic timetables that don’t last, and they study for long hours with little results. This website and the resources it provides will help combat all of these problems.

This website is designed to help students learn how to study effectively, not just what to study. Instead of last-minute panic or unrealistic timetables, students learn how to:

  • Plan their time properly
  • Stay consistent
  • Feel more confident and organised
  • Actually stick to their study plans

Everything here is practical, realistic, and designed to work around school, homework, sports, and downtime.

Who This is For

This website is for:

Junior & Leaving Cert students who:

  • Feel overwhelmed by studying
  • Don’t know where to start
  • Keep making study plans they don’t stick to
  • Want to improve results without studying all the time

Parents who:

  • Want to support their child without constant conflict
  • Know their child is capable but lacks structure or motivation
  • Are looking for practical, proven study support

How It Works

         - Focus on progress, not perfection.

There’s no pressure, no cramming culture, and no unrealistic expectations.

Who Created This?

I have worked as an SEC examiner and secondary school teacher, teaching English and Geography, and through this experience I noticed that many students wanted to do well academically but did not know how to take the first appropriate steps in their study. Many approached their work in a disorganised and scattered way, often copying what they thought others were doing, such as simply re-reading notes or completing questions in their workbooks without a clear plan.

As a result, many students fell behind in their homework and felt unsure about what to prioritise. With modern-day distractions, these challenges were often made even worse.

To support these students with their studying, homework, and organisation, I began working with them to create realistic weekly study timetables that allowed them to prioritise what mattered most. I also taught them practical study techniques and how to incorporate these into their daily routines. This system made a significant difference. As students improved their study skills, their academic results, confidence, and overall wellbeing improved alongside them.

Over time, I began to think about how I could support more students in developing these skills. That is how Study Steady was created.
